Email The Revd John Sadler
John Sadler has worked in urban situations for the majority of his 32 years as a
priest - always with many questions about what it means to be church and how
best to be it. This led to a sabbatical on new ways of being church and a number
of organised events since.
Before coming to Byker he spent three years out of parish ministry as the general
manager of a foundry where he learnt a great deal about management, about
having aims and objectives, about creating a vision, and about the importance of
taking risks.
John is married to Judith who heads up the North East area office of Christian Aid

Email The Revd Diana MacNaughton
She is enjoying getting to know the people living in Byker, and hearing from residents who can tell her about the history of Byker and South Heaton. She has just moved from Wallsend.
Diana also feels at home in places where people from many different countries of origin have come to live. She was born in London, and was taken to Africa at nine days old and spent the first ten years of her life in the Sudan.
She went to school in Germany, and university at Oxford. Diana went on to teach in comprehensive schools. In Birmingham she lived on the seventh floor of a high rise block of flats with her husband, Alastair, who was curate there.
They moved to a council estate in Nottingham. She completed her Reader training in the Newcastle Diocese, when the family moved to Amble. After training on the North East Oecumenical Course, Diana became a curate, first at All Saints, Gosforth, and then in the Willington team, in Wallsend.
She worked as Chaplaincy Team leader for the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust for 7 years. She was based at North Tyneside General Hospital, but worked across 10 hospital sites, managing the Chaplaincy department.
